How he's been helpful to me... When I started learning to play Jazz, I played in a big band called the Lamp Lighters. I purchased a used Gibson Johnny Smith model guitar.  While playing through an amp on gigs I had problems with feedback from the guitar.  I wrote Gibson, Guitar Player Magazine and finally Johnny Smith himself.  Johnny Smith responded with the most helpful answer to my problem.
